Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ContractorInvoicer ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users of ContractorInvoicer, including users of the free plan and paid Pro plan subscribers.

Description of Service

ContractorInvoicer is a web-based invoicing and business management platform designed for independent contractors and tradespeople. The Service includes tools for creating and sending invoices and estimates, managing clients, tracking time, recording payments, and managing billing subscriptions.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice to users.

We reserve the right to adjust plan features and pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers. Price changes will not apply to your current billing period.

Free Plan

The free plan is provided at no cost and allows up to 3 invoices per calendar month. There is no time limit on the free plan. We reserve the right to modify free plan limits with reasonable notice.

Pro Plan

The Pro plan is billed monthly at $12.00 USD via Stripe, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the next billing date. You may cancel at any time through the Settings page in the app. Upon cancellation, you retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the free plan.

All subscription payments are handled by Stripe and subject to Stripe's Terms of Service. We do not store your credit card information.

Accounts & Registration

You must create an account to use ContractorInvoicer. You agree to provide accurate, complete information during registration and to keep your account information current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not share your account with others or create accounts for the purpose of circumventing plan limits. One account per person or business entity.

Payment & Billing

All prices are in US dollars. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store, see, or have access to your credit card details.

We do not offer refunds for partial months. If you cancel your Pro subscription, you will retain access through the end of your current billing period.

If a payment fails, we will notify you and may suspend your Pro features until payment is resolved. We will make reasonable attempts to retry failed payments before downgrading your account.

Your Data

You own your data. The invoices, clients, estimates, and other content you create in ContractorInvoicer belong to you.

We grant you a license to use the Service to create, store, and manage your business data. We do not claim ownership over your content.

We back up data regularly but do not guarantee against data loss. You are encouraged to download PDFs of important invoices for your own records.

Upon account deletion, your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

Email Communications

We send emails on your behalf when you use the "Send Invoice" or "Send Estimate" features. We may also send you transactional emails related to your account (payment receipts, password resets). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), bcrypt password hashing, JWT authentication, and parameterized database queries to protect against common attacks. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

ContractorInvoicer uses localStorage to store your authentication token and display preferences (such as theme). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile information in Settings. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the address below.

Children's Privacy

ContractorInvoicer is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

You agree not to use ContractorInvoicer to:

Intellectual Property

ContractorInvoicer, including its design, code, branding, and features, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works of the Service without written permission.

You retain full ownership of the content you create using the Service, including invoices, estimates, and client data.

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

ContractorInvoicer is a tool to help you create and manage invoices. We are not responsible for disputes between you and your clients, unpaid invoices, or any financial losses arising from your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us. Pro subscribers who cancel will retain access until the end of their billing period.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a security risk to the Service or other users. In such cases we will provide notice where reasonably possible.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data for up to 30 days before permanent deletion, except where legally required to retain it longer.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email or via a notice in the app.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
